Today as a class we worked on creating fact and opinion statements. The students found their facts in the story that we are reading this week. They created their opinions off of this same story. All of their facts and opinions are about horseshoe crabs. After listing their facts the students had to find a video that helped prove them. Below is Zack's work. I will post more student work on this topic tomorrow.
Facts
Horseshoe crabs stay cool by burrowing under wet sand.
Thier blood is used to make medicine.
Horseshoe crabs can lay eighty thousand eggs in one season.
They have a skeleton on the outside.
Horseshoe crabs have a u-shape on their shell.
Opinions
They are awesome.
They are really cool.
