Pollinating Flowers
The first graders came to our classroom to help pollinate our Wisconsin Fast Plants. They used dead bees on sticks to pollinate each flower on their plants. They even pollinated other students' flowers from the pollen of their own flowers. The classroom buzzing. This upcoming Thursday we will be taking a walking field trip to visit one of my neighbors. He is a retired fireman who has started a garden in an empty lot in our neighborhood. Also, he keeps bees to help pollinate his plants. He has talked in front of college classes at UW-Sheboygan on this topic before. My own kids love to go and visit Farmer Dan and help him in his garden any chance they get. This will be a great learning experience for our students.
