Story Problems and Solutions

Today the students were asked to solve the following problems at the beginning of math.

Each day, a school lunchroom makes 25 tuna sandwiches and 45 grilled cheese sandwiches.  How many sandwiches are made in 5 days?

Mrs. Davis needs 32 apples for baking.  Each box of apples has 2 rows.  There are 4 apples in each row.  How many boxes of apples will Mrs. Davis use?

Tickets for the play cost $3 for students and $5 for adults.  Tifa spent $22 on tickets.  How many of each ticket did Tifa buy?

The Bike Shop received an order of 100 bicycle helmets.  The store manager put 12 of the helmets in the front of the store.  The rest were put in the storeroom. The helmets in the storeroom were placed on shelves with 8 on a shelf.  How many shelves were used for the helmets?
