Weekend Writing

Today the students were able to complete a little bit of research to help them with their weekend homework assignment.  This week they need to explain how a person can stay healthy.  As a class we continue to talk about explaining our thinking when we write.  The students should work on explaining ways to stay healthy in their writing.  They might mention that a person needs to drink plenty of water.  Hopefully, they will add the benefits of drinking water and maybe the recommendation of how much water to drink each day in their writing too.  Below is a copy of Kylie's writing assignment from last weekend.  The majority of students in our class felt she did a great job and her paragraph should be shared on our blog.

I think that keeping the T.V. plugged in is a better idea.  One reason why I’d like the television to stay plugged in, is you can watch movies with your whole family. Family movie time can be lots of fun especially when they are comedy movies where everyone gets to laugh and have a good time.

You can also play video games if you attach a video cord.  Some video games are fun and educational like Minecraft.  

Some T.V.’s have internet which we can watch YouTube on it.  YouTube can be fun, funny and educational by showing you how to do things.  

Watching T.V. can also be fun.  You can watch NFL, cartoons, and you can watch the weather.  With T.V.’s connected to the internet you can listen to radio or Pandora.  On Pandora you can type in the artist and you can listen to their music.  Some T.V.’s even have a U.S.B. port.  With a U.S.B. port you can watch picture slideshows from a flash drive.  That’s why I think the mayor is wrong.
